The Advanced Care Paramedic program is built atop the existing infrastructure of Primary Care Paramedic education. These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Program Requirements (for domestic students): Paramedic Ontario College Diploma or Primary Care Paramedic Diploma from an accredited program at a Canadian college or Ambulance and Emergency Care Certificate. an Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Certificate (A-EMCA) or equivalent. A minimum of 1000 hours of work experience as a Primary Care Paramedic verified by resume confirming paramedic work history and total accrued paramedic work hours. A letter from Chief of Operations or Chief of Professional Standards of current paramedic employer verifying paramedic work history and total accrued paramedic work hours. The letter must be written on paper with official paramedic-service letter head and must be signed by the individual outlined above. A letter from an official representative of a paramedic certifying body (Pre-Hospital Care Program, Base Hospital, or equivalent) stating that the applicant is an active paramedic who is currently certified to perform Controlled Medical Acts and is in good standing with the certifying body. possess a valid Ontario Class-F license, or equivalent, prior to the first day of regularly scheduled semester 1 classes. Pass a Pre-Admission Theoretical Preparedness Test – Testing Date will be confirmed by email from the ACP Program Coordinator. All applicants are required to obtain a passing grade of 70% or greater on the Confederation College Advanced Care Paramedic Pre-Admission Preparedness Test which will take place on-site at Confederation College, or at a Confederation College approved testing center. The details regarding this test will be sent to qualified candidates via email. Note: any costs associated with pre-entrance testing will be covered by the student. Only qualified Applicants who have submitted all required documents will be able to book for testing. |
