Application Details for High School Students: If you are applying from an Ontario high school we encourage you to work with your Guidance Office to complete your application. This ensures that your Ontario Education Number (OEN) is provided on any high school transcripts and that your high school transcripts are sent electronically along with your application. Application Details for Mature Students:Applicants 19 years of age or older (on or before a program begins) and who do not possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or its equivalent, may be eligible for admission. Applicants who meet the age requirement can apply for direct entry into the 1-year College Access certificate program, the 1-year General Arts and Science certificate program or the 2-year General Arts and Science diploma program. Mature applicants will have demonstrated the required competence level:
- on our Mature Student Assessment; or
- as a graduate of an accredited post-secondary institution; or
- through successful completion of the recommended courses in our Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) program.
Confederation College uses academic information such as credentials, course completion, grades and English proficiency to determine an applicant’s eligibility for admission. Please refer to the “Admission Requirements” section of individual program pages or the international student program chart for program-specific requirements. You may also want to see what important documents are needed for international students. Confederation College reserves the right to change admissions requirements at any time. English Proficiency Requirements: Visit the English Proficiency Requirements section of our website for information about the minimum English proficiency requirements for entry into our post-secondary programs. Requirements vary by program. Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18yrs of age within their first semester of study to qualify for admission into Confederation College. Backlog/Failure Allowances: Confederation College allows for up to 10 backlogs/failures on a high school, college or university transcript for entry into our programs. Minimum Pass Marks: There is a minimum passing average required for entry into our post-secondary programs. This mark depends on your country of study. Our first round of “Offers of Admission” are mailed out November 1st for programs starting in the fall, so keep a close eye on your mailbox! Select oversubscribed programs will have a first round offer date of February 1st.
