The VFR Over-The-Top Rating offered by Montair follows the Instructor Guide provided by Transport Canada. The rating requires a minimum of 15 hours of dual training of which a maximum may be 5 hours instrument/ground (simulator) time. A pilot license (PPL or higher) is a prerequisite for a VFR-OTT Rating.
A VFR Over-The-Top Rating entitles the holder to fly above a solid layer of cloud in visual conditions provided the departure and destination airports have weather conditions that meet the requirement in the CARS. Students who obtain a CPL are entitled to exercise the privilege of a VFR-OTT Rating. |
