The program is specially designed to give you the best combination of an in-class and hands-on Paramedic education. Your classroom instruction will work alongside simulated training using Fanshawe's own ambulance and involvement with local emergency service providers. Plus, you'll participate in a full-time internship with a practicing Paramedic in the final semester. You'll dig deep into the study of anatomy, crisis prevention, patient care, and ambulance operations. You'll also have the opportunity to develop strategies to help promote your personal health and well-being in a career that is physically and mentally challenging. When you graduate, you'll be eligible to write the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Advanced Emergency Medical Assistant exam, and be ready to work as a Paramedic in emergency response service, industrial first aid and medical departments. Fanshawe's Paramedic program is also accredited by the Canadian Medical Association and is recognized as a Canadian Forces accredited program.
