Our Digital Arts and New Media program helps you work in graphic design, illustration, animation, visual and special effects, web design, and interactive application development. Our intensive program provides you with hands-on experience in: Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Digital Video and Audio Editing, Mobile Application Development, Motion Graphics, 2d and 3d Animation, and Web Design and Programming.

Applicants must meet the following criteria set by the Digital Arts & New Media Department: High school graduation (or equivalent) with a āCā or higher in Foundations of Math 11, or Apprenticeship Workplace 11, or equivalent and a āC+ā or higher in English 12. Visual Arts 11 (Media Arts or Art Foundations and Studio Arts) and/or Information & Communications Technology 11 are recommended.

Application Notes : | If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better. For Indian students coming through the SPP program, the IELTS requirement for diploma programs is 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. |

Admission to this full time program is competitive. The portfolio is a very important part of the application process and applicants should take care to ensure that their work is presented as strongly as possible. Digital Arts & New Media is looking for a demonstration of visual awareness, creativity and technical skill. Applicants should choose pieces for their portfolios that demonstrate the nature, scope and direction of their work. The portfolio pieces may be of any medium and they need not be specific to new media. Applicants must also complete and submit a questionnaire.
