Health and Human Services Access is a 10-month program that provides students with the academic and personal preparation to enter into certificate or diploma programs in selected fields in the health and human services area. The program combines academic upgrading with specialized introductory courses in the health and human services field. The mixture of programming will enable students to academically prepare for specialized studies, while gaining exposure to a variety of health and human services topics, such as professionalism, ethics, team building, personal development and other areas. Students will also complete two introductory computer courses. |

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. To be eligible for the program, applicants must have: Achieved 65 per cent or more in English 140 or its equivalent; a commitment to living a healthy lifestyle; A strong interest in northern community health issues and community-based human services work; passed the admission interview; and provided a criminal record check.
