The history of the media is an important and burgeoning area of scholarly enquiry. The field explores cultures of communication, especially the development of mediums of communication, the processes by which these mediums reach and influence audiences, and the artefacts of those mediums - for instance printed pamphlets or radio broadcasts. It is a field which is, by its nature, broad and interdisciplinary, but especially relevant to students of history, literature, film and music. |
