The MSc in Mathematics is intended to bring the student to a level of knowledge and understanding where they can confidently begin to study modern research literature in Mathematics, and can prepare to embark on a research project of their own (under supervison). It is a one-year full-time programme which involves both taught modules and dissertation work in the ratio 2:1. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. You should hold a degree in Mathematics with a grade of Second Class Honours or better, and for which the course requirements are of comparable content and standard to that of the UCD BSc degree major in Mathematics. Those who have been awarded a distinction, or Second Class Honours Grade 1, in the Higher Diploma in Mathematical Science (Mathematics stream) are eligible for the programme. |
