The MSc in Mathematical Sciences is a one-year (12 months) full-time programme which allows a student to combine graduate-level modules in one or more of the disciplines of the school (Actuarial Science and Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics/Mathematical Physics). It consists of 60 credits of taught modules in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Physics or Applied Mathematics, and 30 credits assigned to the writing of a dissertation as well as active participation in a research seminar. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. You should hold a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Theoretical Physics with a grade of Second Class Honours or better, and for which the course requirements are of comparable content and standard to that of the UCD BSc degree. Those who have been awarded a distinction, or Second Class Honours Grade 1, in the Higher Diploma in Mathematical Sciences are eligible for the programme. |
