Description:

Particularly after the Southern, Northern and Eastern enlargements, the European Union is diverse in its political, legal, economic and linguistic traditions. The resulting challenges have created exciting new opportunities for professionals who are capable of working in a cross-national context, who understand the development of new political, economic and social structures in Europe and who can relate to innovative processes of policy-making. Drawing on UCD’s expertise in these areas, the MEconSc in European Economic and Public Affairs is ideal for professionals and policy-makers seeking to build a career in the EU or in other sectors of the private, public and voluntary spheres, as well as a strong foundation for further academic research.

The MEconSc in European and Public Affairs is a multi-disciplinary Master’s degree which is designed to equip graduates with strong expertise in contemporary European affairs and public policy. Students need to fulfil the coursework requirements of the programme as well as submit a thesis. Core courses are taken from the disciplines of Politics/International Relations and Economics, and further options in Business and/or Law. In addition, there are two study trips, respectively to Brussels and Florence.
