This is a three year career program that provides the professional training needed to understand and promote children’s learning and development. Extensive fieldwork experiences provide students with an opportunity to combine theory with practical application, also known as praxis. Students will develop a caring, patient attitude, good organizational skills and a commitment to personal and professional excellence.Students in this program will engage in three separate field-work experiences, while also using the on-campus Early Childhood Education Lab Nursery. Advanced standing is possible for those who have already completed an AEC in Early Childhood Care.
Interest in the childcare profession is growing rapidly, with high demand for competent, professional educators. The number of children being cared for in Nursery Schools, community preschools, and school age programs as well as CPEs (Centres de la Petite Enfance) has soared. Job opportunities are excellent.

Applicants must include a letter of intent with their application outlining the reason(s) for applying as well as descriptions of relevant work or volunteer experience (if applicable) with groups of young children. Accepted students must provide an immunization record. Applicants with post-secondary education will be evaluated on their overall academic performance and prerequisite standing. |
