The event industry has seen significant growth in recent years, and is worth £39.1 billion in the UK alone. Events play a key role in economic development and social well-being, and can be used to help achieve business objectives and other goals such as community cohesion. They can, however, also impact negatively on quality of life and the environment.
This exciting and vocationally-relevant degree brings together UWE Bristol's recognised expertise in event studies, management and tourism, and is primarily for those wishing to specialise in the business of events and events in business. You will study the main disciplines and operational areas of business alongside specialist modules focusing on management functions, processes and values in events - from inception through to closure and evaluation. You will also explore diverse parts of the industry such as music concerts and festivals, conferences and meetings, sporting events, and weddings and celebrations.
You are encouraged to do a minimum 40 week work placement in Year 3, supported by an award-winning placement team. This is a great way to gain real world experience, develop key skills, earn some money and enhance your employability. |
