Description:

Our BA(Hons) English with Writing allows you to combine your love of literature with developing your skills in writing for a diverse range of audiences using both print and digital platforms. The quality of the course and our inspiring staff, plus committed contributions from industry experts, mean that we rank consistently highly in the National Student Survey (NSS). Our graduates emerge as independent, flexible and culturally engaged professional writers equipped for rewarding careers in many different sectors.

You will gain a deep understanding of English literary culture from the Renaissance to the present day, while refining your writing skills in areas such as advertising, marketing and PR, health and social issues, public service broadcasting, journalistic reporting and imaginative fiction. You will be taught by leading researchers and published writers in a supportive, collaborative community. External professionals offer constructive advice and feedback throughout the course. English with Writing is based at Frenchay campus, where you will work alongside our Arts and Cultural Industries. Bristol's vibrant culture is an exceptional resource and there is ongoing creative exchange between the University and the city.
