Description:

Embedded systems are now used in a wide range of industries. Complex applications range from aerospace, to hybrid vehicles and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in healthcare. To develop and manage these systems requires a firm understanding of mathematics, electronics, engineering and computer programming. Major employers in the region have highlighted a shortage of professionals with this combined knowledge and skills.

If you are already working in industry, you can boost your career prospects and industry expertise on this part-time Foundation degree. Developed in partnership with UWE Bristol, Gloucestershire College and GE Aviation, there are opportunities to progress onto one of our professionally accredited honours degrees. You will study a combination of mathematics, electronics, low-level programming and high-level software engineering principles. You will also learn how to design and create microelectronic and computer-based systems. This is applied through hands-on activities and project work in Gloucestershire College's advanced electronics labs and UWE Bristol's state-of-the-art facilities.

This program can be completed three years, part-time.
