Careers:Environmental Impact Analysts

Description:

Civil Engineers are responsible for much of the infrastructure we rely on in modern society. They are involved in the design, build and maintenance of roads, bridges, water supply, flood defences and buildings. This puts them in a prime position to protect and enhance our environment through the sustainable use of resources. You will study the broad spectrum of civil and environmental engineering ranging from structures, materials and hydraulics, to hydrology and project management. Alongside, you will develop vital skills in surveying, geographical information systems (GIS), drawing and computer-aided design (CAD). This course is available on a full and part-time basis, so you can boost your career prospects as a professional civil engineer if you are already employed in the industry.

Students who do a work placement are more likely to graduate with a better degree and get higher quality work on graduation. So as well as helping hone your professional skills, industry knowledge and network, a placement will make you highly employable on graduation.
