Paramedics are multi-skilled professionals who work as part of frontline NHS ambulance teams responding to acute medical or traumatic emergencies. It's a physically and mentally demanding role involving the administration of emergency treatment and life-saving procedures in challenging conditions. The course will give you the knowledge and professional skills to meet the increasing requirement for ambulance services to provide a wider range of treatment options in an expanding role within the emergency and unplanned care environment.
Offered as a unique collaboration with the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust, BSc(Hons) Paramedic Science is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and leads to registration as a paramedic with the HCPC. As well as learning the theory of paramedic practice and studying the subjects that underpin it, you'll develop strong inter-professional and interpersonal skills, along with the problem-solving and decision-making skills required to deliver safe and effective care. With fully integrated work-based training and outstanding onsite facilities, our innovative and expansive curriculum is taught by a dynamic, supportive team with a depth of experience as practicing paramedics. |
