This three-year program is harmonized with the two-year pre-university Music program. The first two semesters are common to both programs. This option includes study of musical instruments, music technology, and courses in commercial, jazz, and studio music. There is also instruction in composing, arranging and performing jazz and popular music.
Students choose one of the following streams: Stream A - Composition and Arrangement or Stream B – Performance. The program prepares students to perform jazz and/or popular music in recording, radio and television studios as well as in clubs and other professional venues. This particular option is unique in English Cegeps and only off ered at Vanier College.
