Achieve high proficiency on your principle instrument, and take advantage of many opportunities to perform. As a performance major, emphasis is put on achieving a high level of proficiency on your principal instrument and experience in a wide range of styles will give you the skills necessary to be an effective member of any ensemble. Students perform in a variety of performance venues ranging in size from intimate jazz clubs and restaurants to large auditoriums and theatres.

Application Notes : | If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better. For Indian students coming through the SPP program, the IELTS requirement for diploma programs is 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. |
