Architecture is a highly demanding course of study, leading to the Master of Architecture graduate degree. A complete, accredited curriculum, it provides Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) approved professional standing. This standing is equivalent to the US National Architectural Accreditation Board (NAAB). International students should determine certification requirements in the country of their intended practice. Applicants to the Master of Architecture program must hold a degree that is academically equivalent to a four-year Bachelor’s degree. The degree may be in any discipline. To be eligible for admission, the applicant must have a ‘B+’ average in third and fourth year-level coursework. |

A summary (in résumé form) including education, work experience, travel, volunteering, or other relevant experience deemed appropriate is required, a one-page, single-spaced statement of reasons for desiring to study architecture as well as reasons for selecting UBC Architecture, a portfolio of work is required that demonstrates aptitude and experience in creative endeavors. This should include significant evidence of two and three dimensional skills and thinking, and three letters of reference from referees, preferably academic, who will provide references indicating an assessment of past ability and future success in the program. |
