Want to change the world? Our program fosters your ability to investigate and understand the root causes of the most pertinent social justice and environmental issues of our times. Through a combination of critical theory, applied methods, and an extensive community placement our Master of Arts (MA) program in Social Justice and Community Engagement (SJCE) engages students in the active promotion of social and environmental justice principles both locally and globally.

  • A four-year (honours) undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in humanities, social science, natural science, education, social work or related interdisciplinary program. Applicants with a three-year degree will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • A background in the concepts of social and environmental justice.
  • A minimum B average in your last year of undergraduate study, or equivalent.
  • Review of all application materials listed in the application checklist by the SJCE admissions committee.
