You'll study everything from the gene to whole body systems. We want you to graduate with a thorough understanding of the genetic and molecular processes that underpin the development, structure and function of the human body in health and disease. The first two years give you a grounding in the molecular and cellular basis of life. You will have the opportunity to carry out human dissection, supervised by a member of staff.
In your third year you will study with one of our partner universities, taking approved modules in biomedical related areas, and subject to module approval, will have the opportunity to take a small number of courses in a diverse range of areas such as business. In the fourth year, we expect you to be more independent. You'll have the opportunity to specialise in areas that interest you, for example medical sciences, molecular physiology, neuroscience, developmental biology and pharmacology. We ask for more critical thinking from you at this level and a better understanding of existing research. You will also complete a research project of your own. |
