This three year course gives you a conceptual and practical understanding of communities and ecosystems and the threats they face. Optional modules include molecular and evolutionary ecology, population biology and conservation principles.
We have excellent facilities for ecology teaching and research, including controlled environment chambers that simulate conditions ranging from the Tropics to the Arctic, experimental gardens and glasshouses, artificial stream systems, state-of-the-art equipment for DNA, bio-molecular and elemental analyses. The Peak District National Park and other habitats are within easy reach. |

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants are required to have an average of 80% in six grade 12 U, U/C or M courses, including Biology and a second science. Human Biology is acceptable instead of Biology. Second science from Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Maths, Statistics, Physics, Geography, Psychology, Economics or Environmental Science/Studies.
