This course focuses on the application of physics to clinical medicine. You'll gain a broad and fundamental understanding of physics while developing particular expertise in medical applications.
You'll learn about the human body, its anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, exploring its performance as a physical machine. Other topics include the physics of the senses. You'll also study diagnostic and therapeutic applications like the ECG, radiation physics, X-ray technology, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Medical physics modules are taught by the Department of Cardiovascular Science. Your learning will have strong roots in the NHS, where the department provides day-to-day clinical services. |
