If English is not your first language, this subject-specific international foundation year will give you the necessary English language ability and expertise to study an undergraduate degree in business within UK higher education. You will gain an understanding of British culture and universities, and you will work on your intercultural communication, maths, research and study skills. You will also become more aware of the requirements of studying at a UK university, helping you to be more successful and confident on your chosen undergraduate degree.
This pathway will prepare you for study on our business courses. You will be introduced to some of the fundamental principles of business and management and develop your knowledge of the role businesses play in the economy. Classroom seminars will help you to familiarise yourself with business operations and you will research existing organisations using a range of case studies. Working both in groups and individually, you will explore information and show your analysis through presentations and reports. You might study some parts of the course with British students, while other sessions will be with fellow international students. The teaching on this course is British Council accredited.
