All applicants need to successfully complete a high school diploma by June 30 of the intake year. Course prerequisites must be at the pre-university level suitable for post-secondary study in science or engineering with a grade of 70% or higher in each of these required courses:
- physics 12
- chemistry 11 (for engineering program only)
- advanced math 12
- English or French 12

The application process for the Canadian Coast Guard Officer Training Program differs from traditional post-secondary institutions. Candidates are not just applying for entrance into a degree program! Upon admittance, they are hired as an employee of the Public Service of Canada.
To submit your complete application you will need to provide:
- your online application form
- a resumé
- a copy of your high school transcript
- copies of any post-secondary transcripts (if applicable)
- proof of enrollment in the required courses (if applicable)
Applicants will have till June 30th to provide completion of the course, with their final grade.
