Requirements for International Students

Students require Student Authorization if they are planning to study for more than three months in Canada. We require that all students be 17 years of age or older as of their first day of classes. Detailed information can be obtained through the Canadian Embassy or by contacting the school directly.

Procedure for International Students

1.) Decide which classes you will take and when you will study. Complete the Student Registration Form. Fill in everything if possible, but if there are some things you don't know yet, (airline flight for example), don't worry! We will contact you later. 2.) Send us the Student Registration Form. You may use fax, e-mail or airmail. If possible, please try to give us a fax number. We will then reserve a place for you in our classes. 3.) After a few days we will then send you a list of fees and payment methods (usually by fax). When you receive the invoice, please send the fees to the college. If you use a bank transfer, please send a copy of the bank receipt so that we may confirm it. 4.) Your homestay family will then be arranged if you requested one. When everything is ready, (usually three or four weeks before you arrive in Canada), we will send you all of the family details, name, phone number, address, etc. 5.) Get on your flight and relax! Your family will be at the airport holding a blue Winfield College sign with your name on it. They will take you to your Canadian home and you'll begin your new exciting life in Vancouver!

Notes:We have a maximum of 12 students per class with an average of 10 students per class depending on the level and season. There are seven levels of classes and placement tests that are given on the first day of class. Archer College restricts enrolment of nationalities to ensure a wide range of language groups in each class. Students may enter ESL classes on any Monday, although most students begin on the first Monday of the month. Enrolment is done on an on going basis with the minimum stay being two weeks.
