Each Faculty has specific admission requirements for their individual degree programs that must be met. You can enter into the first year of most programs directly from high school; other programs require you to complete preprofessional study before you can be admitted. In some programs, students must have one or more years of study at the university-level, or even an entire degree, before they can apply. For example, Business, Education and Medicine require preprofessional study. To view the admission requirements for a particular Faculty, go to Programs of Study. Select the Faculty and then degree program of interest. Students who have attended school outside Alberta should ensure that their secondary education background is equivalent to the Alberta system.
