Sheaf

NOTE: The Sheaf is a student-run non-profit organization. It receives part of its operating budget from U of S students in the form of a direct-levy; the remainder of the revenue is generated through advertising. The financial affairs are governed by a Board of Directors, all of whom are students. The mission of the Sheaf is to inform and entertain students by addressing those issues that are relevant to life on campus, in the city, or in the province. The newspaper is also meant to be a forum for discussion on a wide range of issues that concern students. The paper is written for students by students. Most of the staff (editors, photographers, artists) are student-journalists. With this composition, the Sheaf tries to stay in touch with students on this campus. It offers unique insight to university issues through a student perspective.

NOTE: The University of Saskatchewan Local Committee of WUSC (World University Service of Canada) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, running many events and programs that help accomplish, and raise funds for their mission of fostering human development and global understanding through education and training. They help to facilitate student involvement in on-site and international development programs, and to organize and facilitate the sponsorship of the WUSC refugee students by the U of S community. Composed of students, faculty, and administrators with a passion for international development issues, WUSC local committees are found on university and college campuses across Canada.

* The transit fee (USSU U-Pass) has been reduced for the 2020 Fall Term and 2021 Winter Term to $0 for students who are only taking remote classes (classes which would normally be in-person classes). Students taking classes where any portion of a class is on campus (in-person classes on the Saskatoon campus) will be assessed the transit fee. Any student who wishes to opt-in to the U-Pass can visit ussu.ca/upass for opt-in and U-Pass activation details.
