The Audio Recording Academy (TARA) was founded to offer accessible education to accommodate students and artists whose passion for audio recording extends beyond everyday curiosity. The TARA philosophy is to provide a comfortable "learning without attitude" experience in a real studio environment. We attract like minded people who are committed to pursuing their dreams of working in the audio industry or surrounding themselves with the best audio equipment to indulge their creative passions and find their creative voice. TARA specializes in teaching all aspects of audio recording in small classes with hands-on experience. Our Audio Recording program is taught in real working recording studios, not lecture halls. We maintain small class sizes to maximize students’ familiarity with equipment, and focus on real life scenarios. We emphasize hands-on techniques and focus on a practical education.

TARA staff are available, with local knowledge, to help out of town students find suitable accommodation.

At the end of the course, TARA Grads will have completed their own Independent Study Project that can be used in their portfolio. The school offers a multi facility recording complex with four custom designed studios. This state of the art facility was designed with particular attention paid to acoustics and focuses on audio technology details that make it 'musician friendly’.
