The Canadian Institute of Gemmology (CIG) is a non-profit career training facility with headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has been operating since 1983 serving the jewellery trade and the general public. It is presently offering class-room instruction in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. The CIG is the largest career training institution for gemmologists and gem technologists in Canada. Its Accredited Gemmologist designation is a registered certification mark and is recognized internationally as a symbol of excellence in gemmology.

The CIG specializes in training students to identify and evaluate gemstones, diamonds and jewellery.
