The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute is dedicated to the belief that the creative process is healing and life enhancing. We offer a post-baccalaureate training program in Art Therapy, which integrates Art Therapy theory, practice, and research. The Institute also offers Art Therapy groups as a community service and supports professional and community education in the Kootenays via Art Therapy conferences and workshops.
The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute's primary purpose is to offer a post-baccalaureate, two-year diploma program in art therapy that includes the needs of rural communities and emphasizes a cross-cultural perspective. The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute follows the educational and ethical guidelines of the Canadian Art Therapy Association and the British Columbia Art Therapy Association.
Our classes offer cross-cultural perspective with a strong and balanced emphasis on theoretical, studio, and clinical components. We provide clinical placements with all client populations and place an emphasis on training therapists to work in rural or urban settings.
