Both challenging and progressive, our courses feature a blend of theory and practical hands-on experience. While understanding the science of our work is imperative, this knowledge is of little use if administered without sensitivity and compassion. At the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba we explore all aspects of touch and how, through science and art, we can change people’s lives.
Our faculty includes practitioners and instructors dedicated to facilitate a student’s learning. Among our distinguished faculty are doctors, athletic therapists, physiotherapists and, of course, experienced massage therapists all practicing right here in Winnipeg. This multi-talented group, representing many professions, share three distinct qualifications: they are all professionals who have a passion for teaching and are committed to advancing our profession and, finally, I believe they are exceptional people.
The school focuses on the art and science of massage therapy.
At this time the college has no dorm facilities. Fortunately we are located in a residential neighbourhood that offers both affordable housing and the convenience of location for most students. If you are moving to Winnipeg and need assistance in finding either a roommate or accommodations, call us in advance and we will assist you in any way we can.
Our outreach and case study practicums provide students an opportunity to work with special populations and unique conditions that may not present themselves in clinic. Community outreach provides therapy for those who may not be able to travel to our college while case studies allow students to assess and treat challenging cases over several treatment sessions. Outreach placements in the past have been diverse: The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Brodie Medical Centre and The Society for Manitobans with Disabilities. Providing therapy at special events is also a requirement of our outreach practicum. Locations in the past have included The Manitoba Marathon and The Winnipeg Blue Bomber Training Camp.
