NorQuest College is one of the most diverse college communities in Canada. This post-secondary institution serves more than 10,000 students a year throughout Alberta in full-time, part-time, distance, and regional programs. About 60% of NorQuest students study part-time.
The college has particular expertise in adult academic preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), literacy education, and learner supports for students with disabilities. NorQuest is a provincial leader in providing access to post-secondary education for adults with a wide range of social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Our instructors work with employers to ensure our grads are trained the way they need them. We also offer career and placement services that can provide you with work experience placements, as well as resume and interview tips.
NorQuest College does not have an on-campus residence; however there are a number of housing and accommodation options and registries to assist students in finding housing accessible to the College.
While NorQuest College does not have a student residence, the MacEwan University student residence is within walking distance of our main campus. The residence at MacEwan's City Centre Campus offers space to students of other post secondary institutions in Alberta.
The website provides the rates for bachelor, two-bedroom, and four-bedroom suites available at the MacEwan Residence.
Skills Assessment staff evaluates your knowledge and skill sets, and place you in the right courses. Student Advisors can help with funding applications for loans and grants. As a NorQuest student, you have unlimited access to the Learner Centre at the Downtown Campus. It provides study space, technology, and expertise to meet your information and support needs. The Learner Centre houses the library, technology workstations, and a tutorial centre, all under one roof. For students taking programs at a distance, resources are available online.
Student Employment and Career Services can help with such matters as developing a professional resume and covering letter, practicing interview skills and mock interviews, finding temporary, summer, or full-time employment, setting up job shadows, information interviews and volunteer placements, and access to career, education, and employment resources in print or on the Internet. Additionally, Counselling Services offer professional and confidential counselling at no cost to all students and staff. Students can take interest and personality tests, and discuss their career choices.
As a service to students, passes for the Grant MacEwan University Sport and Wellness Centre can be purchased at MacEwan at a student discounted rate.
The Networks Cafe student activity centre is located in the basement of the Edmonton Downtown Campus - Main Building. This activity centre provides a pool table and “stop and go” computer access, along with general seating and daily food services. Katherine's Kitchen is open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
NorQuest College has an Art Club.
NorQuest College offers a range of computer services to students, staff and faculty through Educational & Information Technologies.
Computer Commons:
NorQuest College’s Computer Commons provides students with computer and printer access and computer support. Computers are available in room 2-111 of the Singhmar Centre for Learning.
Wireless Internet Access:
NorQuest offers two types of wireless access for students, faculty and staff, available at all NorQuest locations. Access to the Internet and all the applications plus access to your network files and folders and instructor resources.
NorQuest College has a rich and culturally diverse student and staff population. 55% of students are born outside Canada, representing 87 countries.
Learning Support Services offers a wide range of services to students with special needs including physical, learning, sensory (vision/hearing), neurological, health, or other disabling conditions. Assisted technology enables students with disabilities to develop basic computer skills for integration into a regular classroom environment and set standards for enhanced independent living, personal growth, and employment opportunities.
NorQuest College has offered instruction around the world, delivering programs and services in Singapore, Brunei, Australia, Japan, China, Ukraine, Russia, and the Philippines.
