Keyano College is a comprehensive community college that serves the people of Northeastern Alberta. Based in Fort McMurray, the College was originally established as an Alberta Vocational Centre in 1965 to address the local training needs of the rapidly expanding oil sands industry. Since then, Keyano has grown into a modern college with three campuses and five regional learning centres that serves over 3,000 full-time students annually.
Keyano College continues to be the cultural hub of the community through the Keyano Theatre and the Norm Weiss Arts Centre.
At Keyano, there is a program for everyone. Students can choose from certificate and diploma programs in a wide variety of areas, such as Aboriginal Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, College & Career Preparation, Childhood Studies, Bachelor of Education, EMT, Environmental Technology, Fitness Leadership & Movement, Bachelor of Physical Education (Kinesiology), Office Administration, Practical Nurse, Human Resources Management, Social Work, and University Studies. A number of trades programs are also offered, such as Mechanical Construction Trades Preparation, Heavy Equipment Technician – FINNtech (a partnership with Finning), Power and Process Engineering, and more! There are one- and two-year university transfer programs in a variety of disciplines with collaborative degrees in Nursing and Elementary Education. In collaboration with partner institutions and national industry organizations, Keyano offers quality, accredited programs that lead to nationally recognized professional certifications including Occupational Health & Safety, Supply Management, and much more.

Programs and services offered by Keyano College to first-year students include: orientations, various workshops, Health Services, the Skill Centre, and various scholarships/bursaries.
Keyano College Counsellors can assist you with your Career Planning process. Career Counselling services are available to registered and prospective Keyano College students on a free and confidential basis. To book an appointment for career counselling, please contact the Counselling office.

The Keyano College Students' Association hosts various activities throughout the year.
The main club at Keyano College is the Keyano College Students' Association (KCSA). Every 3 weeks, the General Council which consists of students from every department, meets and networks.
The college has 3 types of computer labs:
1) Info-Common Computer Lab: Located on the main floor of the Syncrude Technology Center in Clearwater Campus. This lab has 40 computers available to individuals with Keyano Electronic ID (KeID.) Students, Faculty, and Staff may access it anytime during usual hours of operation. Guests and Community members must check with the Library before they are allowed to use this facility.
2) Controlled Open Labs: These are open labs that are supervised by College personnel. Access to the computers in these areas will require permission from the attendant. Presently, there are the following Controlled Open Labs:
- Library: located in the main floor of the Clearwater Campus, next to Student Services.
- SKILL Center: located in the main floor of the Clearwater Campus, next to the Nursing Department.
- Fort Chipewyan Campus Library: Located in the main floor of the Fort Chipewyan Campus.
3) Instructional Computer Labs: these labs are dedicated for instructional purposes. Students may use these labs when available and with the permission of the instructors.
Keyano Theatre is the cultural hub of the Wood Buffalo region. In addition to producing a 4-play theatrical season, the Theatre presents the Syncrude Arts Alive concert series, the CBS Construction Home Grown Series, and numerous Visual and Performing Arts student events. Keyano Theatre is also a rental facility, facilitating hundreds of school, community, corporate, and college events.
Keyano Theatre is a state-of-the-art facility with a 594-seat Mainstage Theatre and a 194-seat Recital Theatre with over 80,000 patrons passing through our doors in any given year.
Keyano Clearwater Cafeteria: Hours of Operation: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Health Services: Hours of Operation: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Security Officers can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 780-791-4911.
Keyano College supervises many professional examinations for community members of the Municipality of Wood Buffalo, such as the Canadian Securities Examination, Alberta Real Estate Testing, and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. The Exam Coordinator also handles external examinations including GED, ACT, LSAT and SAT. Applications and information bulletins are available from the Office of the Registrar.
Keyano is affiliated with the YMCA Riedel Place Child Development Centre, which provides developmentally-appropriate programs for children.To be eligible for admission at the Riedel Place Child Development Centre, children must be between 13 months and 6 years of age. The centre is open to the children of Keyano students and to the community, if there is space available. Registration is limited.
