Medicine Hat College offers a wide range of programs and opportunities to meet a variety of learning needs. Our largest campus is located in "Canada's sunniest city", Medicine Hat, Alberta, with a smaller campus located to the west in the city of Brooks.
You can get a degree in many different programs thanks to our partnerships with the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, Athabasca University, and our own applied degree programs. Additionally, we have several agreements with various Canadian and American schools allowing you to transfer credit into their degree granting programs.
Medicine Hat College offers a comprehensive array of programs to meet your needs. We offer degree completions, applied degrees, university transfer, diploma, certificate, apprenticeship, and adult development programs through on-campus and distributed learning instruction.

Medicine Hat College offers a place to call home at both the Brooks and Medicine Hat campuses. Student residences are town house units that each accommodate four students. You get your own bedroom and share a bathroom, kitchen, and living area with your roommates. All units are air conditioned and partially furnished, making it easy to move right in. Medicine Hat College offers the Student for a Day Program. This provides an opportunity for prospective students to sit in on a class, meet advisors, and take a tour of the campus. Academic Advising is also available for students who need assistance with course selection, program selection and planning, and with finding information related to academics and/or their program of choice. Advising offers daytime and some evening hours.
Medicine Hat College graduates enjoy employment rates that average 87%. However, just having the education is not always enough to get you the job you want. As part of your career development, Student Career Services offer help and information regarding resumes, cover letters, career research, interview skills, and job search strategies. Other services available to students include resume critiquing and workshops.
College athletics is a big part of campus life. Medicine Hat College is a member of the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) and fields both men's and women's teams in four sports: basketball, golf, volleyball, and soccer. The ACAC Champions in all league sports compete on the national scene as provincial representatives to the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Championships. Join the MHC Rattlers by attending one of our identification camps held every year.
Physical activity is a great way to fight stress and stay healthy. As a student, you have full access to the weight room, gymnasium, lockers, and change facilities. If competitive sports aren’t quite your thing, we have various leisure and drop in activities on campus such as badminton, and floor hockey. There is also Beach the Blues Day in February. If you want to just sit back and relax, head to Crave, a licensed lounge. Students at our Brooks Campus have access to the town of Brooks Recreation Centre.
A number of clubs are available for students at Medicine Hat College, including Phi Theta Kappa, Aviation Club, Global Tourism Club (Tour This), Knob and Kettle Club, Multi-Cultural Club, Peaks and Paddles, Students with Abilities and Disabilities (S.W.A.A.D), Wave Club, and Young Liberals of Canada.
There are over 800 computers on campus providing excellent access to the technology you need for research and study. Many computers are located in labs dedicated to specific programs. However, open access terminals are available in many areas such as the Vera Bracken Library, which offers 80 work stations, Internet access, printing, and photocopying services, as well as computerized research aides.
The Medicine Hat College Conservatory of Music and Dance offers highly qualified instruction for musicians, singers, and dancers of all ages. The College has two art galleries and features visiting displays on a regular basis. There is also a 547-seat theatre.
Medicine Hat College provides personal assistance to students with disabilities by offering adaptive technology (as available), chair lifts, elevators, and three units (seven beds) for students with mobility challenges.
Medicine Hat College has established transfer relationships with numerous universities. Specific partnerships with the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University and Athabasca University allow students to complete degrees on campus.
Medicine Hat College has established three campuses in China and hosts hundreds of international students each year. Medicine Hat College has also been involved in various international projects in Asia and Africa.

There is a daycare, food services, a bookstore, student newspaper, art displays, concerts, drama productions, guest speakers, public transit, parking, and a campus store.
