The UVic Faculty of Law has from its founding in 1974 been recognized for its commitments to academic excellence, innovative programming, and a supportive learning environment.
The goal from the very beginning has been to foster a challenging, intellectually stimulating, and rewarding academic culture in which students, in addition to receiving a superb legal education, would be encouraged to examine law from a broad societal perspective. The Faculty has always viewed law as a dynamic entity that can best be understood within the wider context of historical, social, economic, and political developments.
