Vancouver public schools offer students from outside of Canada the opportunity to study with local students. Homestay with local families is available if needed. There are also some placements for elementary students.
Vancouver schools offer excellent programs in academics, fine arts, sports, computers, languages, and technology. All teachers within the Vancouver School Board are fully qualified at Canadian educational standards. Effective English as a second language programs are available to assist students where needed.

Our homestay partner, Langara College homestay, provides excellent local family homestay to international students. Families are carefully selected and provide students with caring support and three meals a day. Students have their own room with a study desk. School residences are not available.
Vancouver public schools have excellent facilities including gymnasiums, bands and orchestras, computer labs, science labs, and large sports fields. Classrooms and libraries are well equipped for excellent academic study as well as creativity in the fine arts.
Guidance counsellors assist high school students with planning for post-secondary study and careers.
Extracurricular sports clubs are available to students. They include sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, girls' hockey, football, tennis, badminton, golf, swimming, and track and field.
Schools organize annual skiing excursions and various field trips for academic, scientific, and cultural studies.
Involvement in extracurricular activities such as choir, band, dance, drama, community service, tutoring, yearbook club, and other school clubs are an excellent way to improve language skills in a friendly environment.
All Vancouver secondary schools have state of the art computer labs. There are robotics and advanced technology programs at several schools.
Some schools have intensive programs in dance, video production, graphic arts, and drama productions.
Interpreters and multicultural services are available so that international students can adjust and feel comfortable in their new environments, and parents can communicate with the schools.
International students in the program are monitored by dedicated faculty, staff, and advisors who assist students whenever possible. A contact teacher within each school monitors the students well being and performance. School counsellors and international education program administrative staff also support international students.
