When you attend AMDA Los Angeles, you become a part of Hollywood's creative community; the studios, theatres and landmarks are your inspiration. Hundreds of films, television shows and live performances take place here each day. With Hollywood as your classroom, you'll get a real understanding of how show business actually works.

On Campus Housing

Students who plan to live in campus housing must submit a $260 (US$200) room reservation deposit. This deposit will reserve a slot in campus housing and is applied toward housing costs.

AMDA believes that residence facilities provide an educational benefit to students. The experience of living and participating in campus housing challenges students to learn and live in a diverse environment. Students must agree to comply with all housing policies by completing and submitting a signed Housing License by published deadlines. Students must also abide by AMDA's Code of Conduct as detailed in the Student Handbook.

AMDA students who opt to live off campus are responsible for finding their own housing arrangements. AMDA assumes no responsibility for assisting students with off-campus housing. There are many types of housing options available located near AMDA’s Los Angeles and New York campuses ranging in rent from $1,950 to $3,250 (US$1,500 to US$2,500).

The original cost in US$9,000 to US$15,000.

Career Planning

The mission of AMDA's Career Services is to provide all-inclusive services that promote excellence in career development, preparation and professional opportunities for undergraduate and conservatory alumni.Current AMDA career counseling includes:

    • Resume review, editing and preparation
    • Interview preparation
    • Employment search guidance and information
    • Application instruction
    • Job search strategies
    • Workshops for AMDA graduates in New York and Los Angeles. These workshops instruct alumni on current job market trends and employment strategies.

Activities

Student Activities provides exposure to and involvement in a variety of social, cultural and recreational opportunities. Students are highly encouraged to participate in the valuable programs and activities that are offered throughout the year.

Special Services

AMDA is committed to providing the best education possible to all students. To this end, the Education Department works with students under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 2008 (ADA) to ensure that students with unique needs have equal access to all educational experiences. Physical accommodations in classroom and lab space, modifications of classroom presentation and modifications in testing and course requirements are all ways to provide access to students with disabilities.

Campus Tour

Experience a day in the life of an AMDA student at a Group Campus Tour in New York or Los Angeles. New York and Los Angeles Group Campus Tours are on Fridays at 12pm. Group Campus Tours allow you to visit and see classrooms on campus, the performing spaces, campus housing, get audition tips and receive information on admissions, financial services and scholarships. During the Group Tour, an admissions advisor will guide you and up to 15 other students on a tour of the AMDA campus. The Group Tours allow you to see classes during session, get tips on the audition process and receive an informative Admissions, Financial Services and Scholarship overview.
