Conveniently located in a state of the art facility downtown, FDU - Vancouver offers bachelor degree studies for students who seek careers in today’s competitive international marketplace. Its programs also provide an excellent foundation for students wishing to pursue a master’s degree following graduation. Classes follow a three semester calendar to enable students to accelerate their studies and earn their bachelor degree in just three years by attending classes year round. Founded in 1942, FDU is New Jersey's largest private university, serving nearly 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students, including more than 1,000 international students from around the world. The University's two US campuses are in northern New Jersey, near New York City. In addition to FDU - Vancouver, the University owns and operates a campus in Wroxton, England.

The FDU - Vancouver degree programs in Business Administration is a part of the Silberman College of Business. Our program focuses on international business and our graduates are ethical decision makers who are ready to assume positions in global and multicultural businesses. They are technologically competent and knowledgeable in the various business disciplines. The Information Technology program is a part of the Gildart Hass School of Computer Science and Engineering. The overarching goal of the program is to prepare students as “information technologists” and professionals who can assist general users, including individuals and organizations, in evaluating needs and solving problems related to information technology (IT), as well as in applying IT effectively in a global work environment driven by rapidly changing technology. The Bachelor of Arts program is a part of Petrocelli College and provides students with a unique opportunity to complete their degree in liberal arts combined with career related specializations in Business, Communications, Applied Technology and Hospitality and Tourism Management. Students may choose to pursue a single area of study in depth or design a program of study by combining liberal arts courses with career related concentrations. The Bachelor of Arts program, which is 120 credit hour program, will provide greater flexibility for transfer credits (up to 90 credits) to students with previous coursework. The Master of Administrative Science (MAS) is offered through Petrocelli College. The MAS is a 30-credit degree structured to meet the career development needs of learners working in administrative and professional positions in the private sector, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. It's primary purpose is to enhance the adminstrative and leadership skills of graduates while developing managerial effectiveness. The program combines cognitive and interactive ways of learning through specializations in Human Resources Administration, Global Technology Administration, Computer Security and Forensic Administration, Global Health and Human Services Administration, Emergency Services Management and Global Leadership & Admininstration. . Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Pre-University Program focuses on helping international students overcome these obstacles. International students who meet the University’s admission standards, but who require additional training in academic English and learning skills, will be placed in the Pre-University Program. This positive and supportive learning environment prepares them for academic success upon entry to the degree program of their choice, in Business Management, Information Technology or the Arts program. The Pre-University program also allows caters to Graduate students who meet admission requirements to the Master of Administrative Science program, but require additional training in academic English skills.

Currently, FDU - Vancouver does not offer on-campus housing. The Office of Student Services aids students in finding off-campus housing.

There are several affordable accommodation options available not too far from the FDU - Vancouver Campus. These places are suitable for either a short term stay while you settle in or for longer stays if you want. One of the finest “Y” accommodation facilities in North America, Vancouver’s YWCA Hotel is less than a five minute walk to the FDU - Vancouver Campus. It offers a warm welcome to students and is a comfortable, safe, and affordable place to stay at the heart of downtown’s arts and entertainment scene. The Shaughnessy Village provides practical and comfortable accommodations at very affordable rates. The cozy rooms have a double bed, kitchenette, TV, bathroom, and balcony. The complex has a dining room, fitness room, indoor hot tub, TV lounge, laundry room, billiards room, outdoor swimming pool (summer), and nice outdoor gardens. Convenient and centrally located, the Shaughnessy Village is about a 15 minute bus ride to the FDU - Vancouver Campus and is close to major shopping, bus routes, and downtown.

The FDU - Vancouver Campus is located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown at 842 Cambie Street. The campus is close to the Vancouver Public Library, the professional football stadium and ice hockey arena, theatres, the False Creek inlet area, sports playing fields, and a wide range of interesting shops and restaurants. It is also conveniently located to major public transportation routes. Extensive renovations were completed to prepare for the campus opening in the summer of 2007. Campus facilities include five state of the art classrooms, two fully equipped computer labs, a library information resource centre, two seminar rooms, and faculty and staff offices, as well as a student lounge. Student Services staff work closely with students in helping to plan and develop a wide range of activities and programs. Activities will vary depending on student interest, but may include soccer, volleyball, badminton, and Dragon Boat Racing. As an active member of the community, FDU - Vancouver students will also have the opportunity to participate in environmental projects such as the Great Shoreline Cleanup and other special events focusing on international relations.

Career Development The Office of Student Services is also dedicated to educating and empowering Fairleigh Dickinson University students through counselling, guidance, training, and career related programs. It encourages exploration and professional development in preparation for the “world of work” and/or further education in pursuit of life balance and a fulfilling career. Career counselling, assessment testing, and workshops are offered to students so that they can explore possible career paths and learn more about academic majors. Staff helps students discover their skills, abilities, interests, and values, as well as their individual personality traits so that they can better assess a career path and the necessary strategies to attain their career goal. As part of the process, workshops on résumé writing, job search strategies, interviewing techniques, and internship criteria are provided. Internships are designed to integrate academic study with supervised work experience. This experiential learning component helps students clarify goals, develop a marketable skill set, and achieve a better understanding of the workplace environment, as well as employer expectations.

Students will play a key leadership role in helping to develop and organize intramural sports and activities. Activities offered will depend on student interest.

In addition to events organized by the University, a wide range of trips, events, and activities are available to students through local service providers.

FDU - Vancouver connects to the provincial Advanced Research Network, BCNet, using the latest fibre optic technology. BCNet operates the regional advanced network in British Columbia. Advanced Networks, which are also called research networks, provide extremely high speed connectivity between the world's universities, and other research and education institutions. FDU - Vancouver’s IT and Management programs will benefit from the latest in fibre optic connectivity with gigabit speed connectivity capability to BCNet and to Canada’s National network CAnet 4, which is interconnected to the US research network, Internet2. The FDU - Vancouver network is a state of the art gigabit capable wired network. Advanced connectivity doesn’t stop there; students and faculty enjoy connectivity via the high speed, secure, wireless LAN connectivity available throughout the facility. Approximately 70 computer stations are available in our computer labs and learning resource area. Computers are equipped with a wide range of current software applications. All students will have a University e-mail account, and access to Web mail and the Internet.

A wide range of cultural activities take place in the Vancouver area. FDU also sponsors special events such as an exhibition by world renowned photographer Steve McCurry. Regular information on events will be posted in the student activities area and on the website.

All students will have an FDU - One Card, which serves as both a student identification card as well as providing special discounts at local shops, restaurants, and services.
