You might be interested to know that when we ask our international students why they chose UW-Superior, they consistently give us the reasons below.
UW-Superior is nationally recognized as a member of the University of Wisconsin System, which is one of the largest and strongest public university systems in the United States. UW-Superior is set in a residential neighborhood within a dynamic medium-sized metro area on the shore of the largest lake in the world, Lake Superior. In addition, UW-Superior has international students from approximately 40 countries among our campus community. They are supported by experienced, professional and friendly staff in the Office of Intercultural Student Success. Finally, the blend of a well-rounded liberal arts education and solid professional training prepares international students for graduate schools and successful careers. In the latest study, more than 95% of recent graduates were either employed or enrolled in graduate school twelve months after earning their UW-Superior degree.
*UW-Superior courses are taught by faculty with terminal degrees and work experience in their discipline, unlike larger universities that will commonly employ graduate students to teach undergraduate courses.
*UW-Superior started as a teacher education college and has stayed true to employing instructors that enjoy teaching others and are willing to support students through their learning.
On-campus housing allows students to choose the style of on campus dormitory/living arrangements that work best for them and even offer a discount to students who continue living in the dorms in the second half of their bachelor's degree program as "upperclassmen".
Off campus housing is available for those 20 and older by the time the fall semester starts. Students are encouraged to stay on campus, at least in their first 1-2 semesters and will be in charge of seeking out their own off-campus housing if they wish to seek out this option.
Students can find our International Admissions (undergraduate) brochure here, which includes additional information and the undergraduate programs available for on-campus courses.
Students will be assisted by our Link Center, which assists students with Career Services as well as learning about becoming more involved in our campus and community. Assistance with resume and cover letter creation through seeking out positions, preparing for a job and visiting our free career closet to upgrade your look are all part of these services.
