Life Technologies 9
The Life Technologies program is divided into five equal units, with students rotating through each: career guidance, woodworking, drafting, automotives, and food preparation/sewing. Students rotate through these units during the two semesters.

Construction + Carpentry 10 (Woodworking)
Time is divided between two areas:
Construction: Students learn the following machine techniques; cross cutting and ripping, dados, rabbetting, and mitering. There is an introduction to concrete building layouts and general framing.
Drafting: Orthographic projections, scaling, dimensioning, working drawings, sectioning, and oblique isometric drawings. A large part of this class consists of drawing a house plan.

Construction + Carpentry 20
Students use power tools and produce more complicated furniture. Construction is introduced through basement construction and framing floors, walls, and windows.

Construction + Carpentry 30
Cabinet work and construction techniques for home use are introduced. Cement and concrete insulation and vapor barrier techniques are introduced. Construction pertaining to roof rafters, trusses, and stairs are introduced.

Mechanical + Automotive 10
Students work on a running Ford engine and study ignition timing, fuel systems, lubrication, and fuels. The engine is completely disassembled to demonstrate engine rebuilding. Tune-up and car service complete the course. Students learn to service cars, including oil changes, fluid levels, and tire repair.

Mechanical + Automotive 20

Topics covered are engine tune-ups, engine service, the clutch, the transmission, steering, front wheel drive, and c.v. joints.

Mechanical + Automotive 30
Prerequisite: Mechanical + Automotive 20
