Applicants to the M.B.A. program at Dalhousie University should hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with a minimum B average during the final two years of study and obtain a GMAT score of at least 550.
Those applying for the accelerated program must have an undergraduate business degree with an average of at least A- in the final two years and a minimum GMAT score of 600. Preference is given to candidates with relevant full-time work experience, but such experience is not essential. Those without work experience may apply for consideration.
GMAT scores, two letters of reference, a statement of purpose, and a detailed resume are also required. Candidates who have received a degree from a non-English language university and whose native tongue is not English, must have one of the following:
- A minimum paper based TOEFL score of 580, computer based score of 237, or IBT92 is required, or a MELAB score of 90, an IELTS score of 7.0, or a Can Test score of 4.5.
Previous completion of graduate and undergraduate business courses may qualify students for course exemptions and/or advanced standing in core courses.
The program begins in September and enrolment is limited to 100 candidates each year. Applications along with a $70.00 application fee should be submitted by January 31 for the People's Republic of China, by April 1 for other international students, and by June 1 for Canadian and permanent resident students. Application deadlines for the combined M.B.A./LL.B. options are February 28 (Law) and June 1 (M.B.A.) for the following September. In all cases, earlier application is highly recommended. Students must apply for the LL.B., M.Eng., M.H.S.A., and M.L.I.S. programs separately.
