Freemont Academy is a small, alternative private school for students in Grades 8 to 12. Currently, total enrolment is 50 students with an average class size of 5 to 6. Freemont's small size allows for flexibility in teaching approaches, personalized attention, and overall meaningful educational experiences. Perhaps most importantly, Freemont manages to create a positive, co-operative environment in which students feel comfortable to learn.
Freemont's stated mandate is to prepare students for university. We have had students graduate and go on to programs in math, science, and engineering, as well as in the arts. Freemont teachers know their material, no matter what the subject.
The Principal assists students in choosing appropriate courses.
Freemont's Guidance Department assists students in choosing and applying to universities.
Freemont does not offer a sports program.
Freemont offers a wide range of year round activities, e.g. art day, drama outings, film nights, etc.
Drama club, art group, creative writing club, year book committee, etc.
Freemont offers some computer science courses and has a computer lab.
