A wonderful city in which to live and learn, Toronto is a safe, sophisticated urban centre that is both culturally diverse and thriving with cultural activity. The Royal Conservatory of Music is located on one of Toronto's most important streets in a prestigious downtown neighbourhood. We are close to public transit, shops, restaurants, museums, and art galleries. Nearby are many quiet residential areas, featuring a dazzling array of multi-cultural communities. Toronto also offers a rich artistic world, enabling students to interact with musicians from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Opera Company, the National Ballet of Canada, and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. The finest international musicians regularly perform in our own Ettore Mazzoleni Concert Hall, at Roy Thomson Hall, the Hummingbird Centre (formerly the O'Keefe Centre), and at the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts. Toronto is the third largest theatre centre in the English speaking world, featuring a tremendous range of dramatic productions from small experimental plays to major Broadway shows.
