The Tourism and Recreation Management Program (TRMP) is designed for both part-time and full-time students interested in pursuing either a one year certificate or a two year diploma and meets the requirements of the B.C. Provincial common core curriculum.
The program prepares students for employment in the fields of Tourism and Recreation Management or to continue their studies toward university degrees. It has been designed to introduce students to a broad range of skills and technical knowledge through class lectures, projects, and agency visits. This is a generalist program where students develop functional - transferable skills that enable them to gain employment in a number recreation and tourism businesses. All students also receive industry recognized certificates including: Foodsafe, Superhost, CPR "C", Occupational First Aid Level 1, and Serving-It-Right. |

- Grade11 Principles of Mathematics or Grade11 Mathematics
- Grade12 English
Secondary school graduation (or equivalent) or applicants who can demonstrate prior industry experience may be admitted as mature students through consultation with the Program Coordinator and/or Education Advisor. Students must have at least a C standing in Principles or Applications of Math 11 or Math 080 or Math 082, English 12 or English 090 or 091 or EFP 12, or TPC 12. Basic computer skills are also recommended. |
